On Friday I was going to a birthday party in Wicker Park and stopped on the way to see the Home Bank & Trust Building which most people now call the MB Bank building. Except that MB has already moved out to the contemporary building in the photos that is adjacent to the old bank building. The building is currently vacant, although I have heard that a CVS or a Walgreen's might be moving in.

I've been told that originally all of the windows were open like the one in the pictures. But when the crime rate went up in the '60s and '70s, the windows were sealed for security reasons. Som people in the neighborhood were hoping that all of the windows would be re-opened as part of renovations for new tenants, but I doubt that Walgreen's will pay for that.
