Trip 66: (Former) Engine Company 27

After work I drove to Old Town (on my way to Home Depot to buy some light bulbs) to see this old fire house. It was hard to photograph because there is a tree directly in front of what was probably the main door. The fire house doors have been replaced by retail storefronts so it's a little difficult to even identify the building. Still, the brick facade is well preserved and the building nicely blends into the street scape. I like the stone arches above the second floor windows and the brick pattern-work instead of a wood or metal cornice.

I've actually always liked the building across the street. It was a car dealership until recently. Hopefully, someone finds a new use for it so that it survives.
